. . . You will love wearing a hoop. Hoopskirts are light and comfortable. They are much cooler, and easier to wear than a petticoat, and really fun to dance in.
The shape
of this hoopskirt is perfect for the Victorian, Civil War, and Southern Belle styles. Dickens Fairs, Reenactments, Old West Photography, Renaissance, and Colonial Costumes too. In the photos, I have shown comparison hoops under dresses to give you an idea of what to expect. You can adjust the hoops in, to get a less rounded shape if you prefer a more A-line look for your skirt. I just think seeing them over the different dresses helps, Enjoy!

Length vs Height?
The fabric length of the skirt will be 3 inches longer than how tall it actually is, because. . . the hoop skirt is going out too, not just straight down. So 28” inches straight down is how long it will be measured against your leg for example, and your dress fabric needs to be longer than 31” inches to cover the hoopskirt. Make sense? The good news is that if you skirt is 3 inches too long, the hoop will raise it up off the floor for you. 3” inches is not a lot but little tip is important to know when matching your gown to a hoop skirt. As far as I know, I am the only seller who carries a short/petite. Good for me, and great for you if you need one!
